Former University of Pretoria, Bidvest Wits and Hwange defender Obert Moyo, is set to make a return to the coal miners after securing his reverse international clearance from the South African Football Association (Safa).
Chipangano’s secretary-general Burzil Dube confirmed to NewsDay Sport Thursday Moyo is now available for local Premiership action after being on the sidelines since last year awaiting clearance.
“Moyo has been training with the club since last year. He has got his reverse international clearance now. If the coaches are satisfied with him he will start playing again,” he said.
Last year, the former Warriors defender, failed to sign with Polish side Legia Warsaw despite making the grade after the club did not de-register one foreign player to accommodate him.
Moyo, a former captain of Chipangano made his name alongside Hlanganani Ngwenya where he proved to be a tough central defender under the then coach Paul Moyo.
He moved to South Africa to join Pretoria University Football Club and had an outstanding season when he scooped the Club’s Player of the Year Award in 2009.

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele confirmed Moyo has been registered with the league after securing the international clearance.
Dube said the coal miners, who are on position six on the log table, seven points shy of pacesetter FC Platinum, hope to promote several juniors to the senior team before the PSL window period closes on July 31 in an effort to bolster their squad.
“We are going to promote the youngsters in the team as we believe that there is abundant talent in our area,” he said.
