Confederation of African Football (Caf) executive committee member and Football Association of Zambia president Kalusha Bwalya says 2008 participants have taken part in the association’s licensing course between 2009 and 2010.
The Zambian football legend graced Zimbabwe when he presented a paper on Caf and Fifa Cooperation in Technical Development at a Fifa Secretary Generals’ meeting which ended yesterday in Victoria Falls on Wednesday.
Although it could not be established how many coaches participated in Zimbabwe, three Caf C Licence courses have been conducted in the country.
According to the presentation 31 countries have been covered in the licensing courses.
Bwalya said the current emphasis by Caf was on human resource development most importantly in coaching, medicine and refereeing.
“The current emphasis of Caf for development of football is towards capacity building and human resource development, primarily in the domain of coaching, medical and refereeing,” Bwalya said.

He said there was also need for the establishment of a broader Caf media network to offer a better image of the organization.
“Caf media network objectives (are) to have a broader access to African football representatives, to inform the general public and media of all Caf activities and to offer a better image of Caf,” Bwalya said.
The seminar was attended by among others Fifa representative in the region Ashford Mamelodi, who is based in Botswana.
