Zimbabwe women’s football boss Mavis Gumbo was allegedly robbed of cash and goods worth $4 500 by her domestic worker.
Concilia Shoko, who was employed by Gumbo and resides at number 94 Enterprise Road, Highlands, allegedly stole the money and converted it to her own use.
Harare magistrate Tayengwa Chibanda yesterday remanded the accused in custody to tomorrow for trial.
It is the State’s case that on December 17, Gumbo who is employed by Premier Service Medical Aid Society, left $800 and $100 in her handbag and shirt pocket respectively before retiring to bed.
The following day, at around 1pm, Gumbo checked her money and she only found $300 in her handbag.
It is further alleged when a search was conducted in the accused’s room, Gumbo found some of her property worth $3 600 in accused’s possession.

It is the State’s case when Shoko was questioned, she admitted stealing money from Gumbo on several occasions and using the money to buy her personal property which included two sewing machines, a television stand and clothes.
Value of stolen money and property was $4 500. $2 153 was recovered. Francisca Mukumbiri prosecuted.
