NYANGA, Mar. 13 (NewsDay Live) — Bonaqua, the flagship water brand in the Coca-Cola system, has announced it will cover toll fees for private motorists at the Rusape tollgate today as part of a corporate social responsibility initiative ahead of the 19th edition of the Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup.
The toll waiver, which also includes the distribution of complimentary hydration packs, began at 10:00am and will run until 2:00pm. The initiative is aimed at supporting motorists travelling to the Eastern Highlands for the prestigious sporting event, which officially begins tomorrow at Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga.
“Bonaqua is committed to promoting hydration and wellness in Zimbabwe,” the company said in a statement.
“Our brand is proud to support this initiative, encouraging motorists to drive safely and stay hydrated.”
This year marks the 12th consecutive year that Bonaqua has served as the title sponsor of the tournament.

The 2026 edition also features an expansion of the brand’s hydration portfolio. Schweppes Zimbabwe, a key partner in the Coca-Cola system, has used the event to officially introduce Powerade to the Zimbabwean market.
The sports drink is being positioned as a next-generation hydration solution designed to support athletes before, during and after high-endurance challenges.
The Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup remains a key fixture on the continental calendar, offering elite athletes an opportunity to earn world ranking points.
Zimbabwe’s elite challenge will be led by Andie Kuipers, who is currently seeking points toward qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The weekend festival will also feature junior championships and community wellness activities, including high-energy fitness sessions led by fitness expert Zorro.
