TRIPPLE B confirmed their championship credentials with a 5-0 trouncing of hapless Town United in a Beitbridge derby on Saturday, to open a 12-point gap at the summit of the log with just six games to go. Report by Sports Correspondent

Second-placed Strikers FC who last week had rekindled their challenge for the top spot by reducing Tripple B’s lead to eight points, saw their hopes fade away when they fell 2-0 away to Chrome Stars. Although Strikers still have a game in hand and still have to meet Tripple B in a potentially explosive derby, “Tshintsha Magiya” appear to have run away with the title and are on course to gain promotion into top-flight football next season.

In other Central Soccer League matches played at the weekend, FC Platinum U-19 edged Blanket Mine 1-0 in their own backyard to further increase Blanket Mine’s relegation worries.

Blanket Mine remain rooted at the bottom of the log with 14 points.
