ZIMBABWE’S rich footballing crop was the major highlight in the Absa Premier League in South Africa on Tuesday and Wednesday with the country’s top marksman shining.

Kaizer Chiefs striker Kingston Nkhata set the tone for the unforgettable mid-week games on Tuesday when he came in as a second-half substitute to score a brace, as the log leaders romped to a 3-0 victory over Golden Arrows.
The former Black Leopards striker came in for compatriot Mathew Rusike just after the hour-mark only to rattle the nets moments later with a powerful header. Nkhata then showed good touch on the run before powering in a shot which beat the Arrows keeper at his near post to give Chiefs a 3-0 lead after Lehlohonolo Majoro had given Chief an early opener.
Cuthbert Malajila took over the show on Wednesday when he scored a brace, as Maritzburg United came from behind to beat Bloemfontein Celtic.
The former Dynamos striker scored his first goal with a low shot from some 12 metres out before latching onto a pass by fellow Zimbabwean international Terrance Mandaza to beat the Celtic keeper with a well-struck shot for his second of the night.

Orlando Pirates’ forgotten striker Takesure Chinyama was back in the starting line-up for the Soweto giants, as they humiliated Esrom Nyandoro’s Mamelodi Sundowns. And what a gem of a goal he scored.
With Pirates leading through a Thulasizwe Mbuyane goal, Chinyama collected a pass outside the box and perfectly curled it into the nets despite vain efforts by Sundowns goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands to keep it out.
