FORMER Zimbabwe light and middle-weight boxing champion Mordecai Donga is eyeing one of the top posts in the Zimbabwe Board of Wrestling and Boxing Control following the dissolution of the Richard Hondo-led executive which had been at the helm since 1980.

Donga yesterday told NewsDay Sport his intention to get into the boxing executive.

“I want to get an influential post like chairman or vice-chairman of boxing in Zimbabwe. I believe that there should be one boxing board which has the amateur and professional ranks if we are to succeed.

“This will ensure that sport runs smoothly with the amateurs and professionals working closely together,” he said.
