Both sides went into the match needing an outright win in the simmering battle for survival.

The result means Tripple B remain rooted at the foot of the log while Rhinos are just two points above them, although it was the first match they failed to concede a goal.

While both sides were desperate for victory, it was Rhinos who were left regretting more as they missed a glut of chances especially in the first half.

Brighton Mugoni was a threat for the visitors on numerous occasions, starting with a powerful shot on the edge of the box to force Prince Dube in goals for Tripple B into a wonderful save in the 11th minute. Brian Muzondiwa’s glancing header crushed against the cross-bar with Dube beaten when he connected a James Munkombwe cross.

After the second stanza, Tripple B shifted a gear up, but Rhinos remained dominant. In a rare Tripple B foray, Timire Mamvura’s trademark shot failed to break the deadlock in the 73rd minute when it was just a few inches over the bar with Rhinos goalkeeper Hebert Rusawo well beaten.

Tripple B managed to hang on for a point.
