RESURGENT former champions Old Hararians maintained their position at the summit of the Lion Lager National Rugby League after running a crushing 56-0 win over Western Panthers at Hartsfield on Saturday.

The Cyprian Mandenge-coached side, who are now almost guaranteed of securing a home semi-final, hardly broke a sweat as they ran in 10 unanswered tries on their march to victory.
Back-liner Patrick Tenesi ran in a massive five tries with Costa Dinha, Gardner Nechironga, Lungile Tshuma, Chido Kapenzi and Denzo Mpuradzo managing a further try apiece.
The bonus point win ensured Old Hararians, who have now amassed 39 points, maintain a nine-point advantage over second-placed Old Georgians.
Old Georgians bagged a bonus-point win of their own after dismissing Old Miltonians 38-5 to remain within touching distance of the log leaders on 30 points.

Matabeleland Warriors enhanced their chances of reaching the semifinals after a narrow 26-25 win over Gweru Sports Club at Hartsfield.
The win saw them reclaiming fourth position on the eight-team log standings from Western Panthers courtesy of a superior point’s difference as both teams have 18 points.
