ZIFA Central Soccer League (CSL) has been ordered to hold an election for the position of secretary-general on a date not later than September 7. The directive was issued by the Zifa Electoral Appeals Committee led by Tawanda Chitapi.

The position of secretary-general fell vacant following the stepping-down of Wellington Ngulube in 2010. Following Ngulube’s resignation, Stanley Chapeta, who was then a committee member, was seconded to the position by the Central Region assembly.

However, earlier this year CSL was dragged into a dispute following the election of Njodzi Chinaka to the position of secretary-general.

The CSL management committee vehemently opposed Chinaka’s election and immediately launched an appeal to the Zifa Electoral Appeals Committee.
