ZIFA says the $744 000 alleged to have been misappropriated is actually money they owe various service providers.

Reports suggested that the money had been siphoned from Zifa accounts – an issue which the broke national association refuted in a statement on their website yesterday.
“This is gross misrepresentation of facts. Contrary to claims, the missing supporting documents relate to payables accumulated from service that was rendered to Zifa on credit and not cash misappropriated or probably siphoned out of the Zifa accounts as alleged,” part of the statement said.
The bulk of the money($239 000) is owed to Buymore Investments, which is owned by Cuthbert Dube, the Zifa president, $180 000 from the Cosafa women’s championships allowances, $106 000 from statutory levies and $44 000 to Led Travel and Tours, owned by Zifa board member Bernard Gwarada.
The Zifa Board meets this afternoon to deliberate on the issue of all national team coaches.
