CAPS United suffered their worst possible trip to the Colliery yesterday when they lost to Hwange and had coach Taurai Mangwiro sent off, his entire technical team cautioned, a goal denied and Honey Chimutimunzeve red-carded.
Further, Dominic Mukandi was arrested at the end of the match for public nuisance and insulting the match officials.
Alick Marime gave Hwange the lead in the 20th minute and it was 2-0 in the 33rd minute when goalkeeper Takabva Mawaya slotted home a penalty past his opposite number Tafadzwa Dube.
Chimutimunzeve then reduced the arrears in the 38th minute before he saw red while Hardlife Zvirekwi’s leveller was ruled out. In the reverse fixture, Caps United beat Hwange 2-1 at the National Sports Stadium.
It was a journey that had started with so much promise, the promise of a top spot if they had managed to come out with three points, but it all ended in despair as they went down to fifth place with 30 points, while the coalminers rose into fourth.

The Green Machine did not find any favours from referee Bonamali Bwanali as he dished out cards wantonly to eight members of the technical team in addition to awarding Hwange a penalty, although he did award one to Caps as well.
At some stage, Caps players walked out of the pitch, which could have invited sanctions from the Premier Soccer League, before they were persuaded to continue.
