Mahmudullah’s century – the first in Bangladesh’s World Cup history – led his side to a very competitive 7 for 275, knowing a win would confirm qualification for the quarter-finals.

England’s run chase looked to be dead in the water at 6 for 163 when Joe Root (29) fell, but Jos Buttler led a stunning counter attack to put England into a winning position.

But when Buttler fell for 65, the advantage swung back in Bangladesh’s favour, with England’s lower order collapsing to succumb to 260 all out.
