South African sports minister Fikile Mbalula has reiterated that the country did not bribe any Fifa officials to secure the 2010 World Cup.

Speaking at a press conference, Mbalula denied that any officials had paid anyone at Fifa for votes.
In relation to the $10million payment to an account run by Jack Warner was ‘above board’ and could not be construed as a bribe.
“We would like to categorically deny that we bribe anyone to secure the rights for the 2010 World Cup.”
