Manicaland Volleyball Association chairperson Farai Mboto said Mutare Polytechnic will host the two-day event.
“The inter-provincial games are on and so far Harare, Matabeleland South, Bulawayo, Midlands and Mashonaland East have indicated they will come. Preparations are on course and we expect an exciting event. Each province will be represented by two teams (one of men and one of ladies),” he said.
ZVA secretary-general Ringisai Mapondera said: “It is part of the ZVA constitutional requirement that we host at least one inter-provincial competition in a year. This is done to give opportunities for coaches to discover new athletes, it’s part of talent identification. We hope that all teams participate because this event is for their own benefit.”
Representatives from Manicaland last participated in this competition two years ago and performed badly, but now teams from the eastern province will be hoping to make good use of home advantage.
