The result means the Beitbridge-based side has now taken a six point lead with 10 games left to play, closest rivals Sable Chemicals stumbled at the weekend in their chase, when they were hammered 4-0 by Vumbachikwe.

Third-placed Tongogara’s championship chase was also hindered this weekend after they were held to 0-0 draw at home by Ivan Hoe Mine, and they are now a distant nine points behind though they have played a game less than the leaders.

ZPC Munyati overcame Chrome Stars 2-1 away from home but they are still 11 points behind the early pacesetters.
