LOCAL diva Thamsanqa Moyo, popularly known as Tammy in music circles, says her new single, Ndyeke, is a reflection of her past experiences.

Tammy released the video to the love song last week.
The video, which opens with an apologetic voice call from the boyfriend, shows a heartbroken woman fed up with a toxic relationship and deciding to leave because of the boyfriend’s Cassanova ways.
The boyfriend, however, persists as he tries to find his way back but the unamused woman tells him off, saying ndiyeke — which means “leave me alone”.
Tammy told NewsDay that the song was based on a true personal story.

“There is a special story behind the song. I did at some point when I cared for someone and it didn’t go my way. Things didn’t work out and was heartbroken for some time,” she said.
“Everything just oozed from within. I know a thing or two about love and heartbreaks and so I just decided to put it on paper and make it a song.”
The 19-year-old songbird says she has learnt a lot since venturing into the music industry.
“I have learnt to stay in competition with myself and never settle for the mediocre, keep my cool and stay focused, always look out for myself and avoid drama and to know my values, most importantly,” she said.
