DENDERA exponent Allan Chimbetu was on Tuesday hauled before Marondera magistrate Shane Kubonera facing charges of neglecting his six-year-old child sired out of wedlock.

He was dragged to court by his ex-girlfriend, Getrude Chanza, who demanded $400 monthly for the upkeep of the child.
“I want him to look after his six-year-old child and pay school fees, he must be a responsible father,” said Chanza.
Chanza told the court that Chimbetu earned about $3 000 per month through music apart from selling and repairing cellphones.

“He is able to pay the money since he earns around $3 000 per month through music. He is also into selling and repairing of cellphones. He can afford to support his child,” said Chanza.
Chimbetu, who did not deny the claim, however begged the court to postpone the matter to a later date since he was summoned on short notice. He also told the court he wanted to seek legal representation. The matter was subsequently postponed to November 2.
In 2012, the Sonny hit maker was arrested in Gokwe after failing to pay $60 monthly for 10 months for his daughter with his Kadoma-based ex-wife, Mildred Mapuranga.
