Gabriel Mwali (23) is alleged to have committed the offence in Caledonia on New Year’s Eve.

Mwali, who is being represented by Arthur Roy Mabhena, was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Elijah Makomo yesterday.

According to State papers, the complainant, who was coming from South Africa, boarded a Caledonia-bound commuter omnibus.

Along the way, the woman indicated that she was not familiar with her bus stop and Mwali, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, offered to assist her.
