In a statement, the Matusadona Anti-Poaching Project (MAPP) said the two were arrested at Doma Safaris at the weekend and were likely to appear in court yesterday.
“The very successful team, only known as the Black Mamba, has struck again! Last night they infiltrated a poacher group attempting to sell a pangolin that the poachers had been keeping in a plastic container for some days. After a short fight with the poachers, two were arrested (including an individual who says he is a church prophet),” MAPP said on Sunday. The project said it was appealing for financial resources to step up anti-poaching activities in the area and applauded other stakeholders for working with them.
On Sunday in the same safari, three poachers were arrested in what anti-poaching activists believe was a breakthrough in efforts to track down a syndicate linked to the alleged killing of elephants on the Zambezi Valley.
