Harare provincial magistrate Vakai Douglas Chikwekwe has dismissed Prosecutor-General (PG), Johannes Tomana’s application seeking to challenge his prosecution on charges of criminal abuse of office, saying there was reasonable suspicion he committed an offence.

In dismissing his application, Chikwekwe said the only person who is immune to prosecution was President Robert Mugabe.

Tomana is being accused of having abused his powers when he ordered the release of two military men, Solomon Makumbe and Silas Pfupa, who were accused of having attempted to bomb Mugabe’s Dairy Plant in Mazowe.
