Speaking to NewsDay yesterday, the 33-year-old musician, who frontlines the African Pride Band, said the album was recorded live.

“It has not been easy to reach where we are now as African Pride Band. Our latest album was recorded and mastered by Tapiwa Maselo of King Studios (and) will carry tracks Rugare, Zvichanaka, Ruva Rangu, Tibatirane, Enda Hako, Tsitsi Dzashe, Save Life, Idai Vachipo and Mwenje Werudo,” Nyahuma said.

Some of the albums under Nyahuma’s belt are So They Say (2007), Ndingatii Zvangu (2009), Hausi Wega (2011) and Yambirika Listen (2013).

Nyahuma admitted that the album So They Say and Ndingatii did not do quite well on the market as he was still a novice in the music industry, but the other two fared better and received airplay on local radio stations.

He said the lack of events like winter and summer jazz festivals as well as jazz joints like Jazz 105 was greatly snuffing life out of the genre.

Among artistes expected to grace the launch are Dino Mudondo, Willom Tight, Tererai Mugwadi, Sulumani Chimbetu, Victor Kunonga, Bob Nyabinde, Cindy Munyavi and Ngoni Kambarami.
