The MDC-T is demanding the resignation of Harare deputy mayor Chris Mbanga pending the outcome of his disciplinary hearing over allegations that he defied a party directive not to suspend James Mushore as town clerk.

MDC-T secretary for local government, Eddie Cross told NewsDay on Tuesday that Mbanga was told to resign on Monday while a disciplinary committee chaired by party chairperson Lovemore Moyo decides his fate.
Mbanga fell out with the MDC-T leadership when he allegedly defied the party on the appointment of Mushore, who was rejected by the government.
But Mbanga yesterday said his case was handled in a flawed manner.
“I have no comment to make at the moment; there are legal issues and processes that they have to follow. So I will not say anything now,” he said.
