TWO Beitbridge Zanu PF councillors are reportedly in trouble after allegedly exposing to police ill-activities of some police constabularies accused of harassing travellers at the border post.

The constabularies are known blue-eyed boys of a very senior ruling party official and are allegedly some of Beitbridge’s “untouchables” because of their association with the “chefs”.
Cllrs Max Chikova and Chanaka were on Tuesday hauled before a disciplinary hearing whose details were not immediately available.
A source within the party said Chikova and Chanaka were asked why they initiated the arrest of the constabularies who are party supporters.
It is understood Chikova and Chanaka, who were not available for comment yesterday, made a police report after members of the public complained about the behaviour of the two police assistants.

“They are accused of demanding bribes from clearing agents and of late they are used to collect bribes on behalf of their bosses,” said the insider.
The social network in Beitbridge is abuzz with incidences of corruption levelled against the two who drive cars emblazoned with faces of President Mugabe.
Meanwhile, the Zanu PF Beitbridge district is split in two after it emerged some senior officials were allegedly stealing donated meat.
Some disgruntled ruling party members accused their provincial executive of misappropriating the meat now found on the black market.
“Who told you that?” provincial chairperson Rabelani Choeni asked before cutting and switching off his phone.
The Beitbridge community receives a tonen of game meat from Bubye Valley Conservancy every month but the meat was now a preserve of the “chefs” now accused of converting the meat.
“Its not benefitting the public,” said a disgruntled member.
A game meat butchery community project at Lutumba is failing to take off because the meat allocations never reaches the site.
