MDC-T founding member and former Gwanda South chairperson, Readus Tlou, who succumbed to a heart attack and was buried in Nhwali last Thursday, has been described as a great unifier and disciplined cadre.

MDC-T vice-president, Thokozani Khuphe and party chairperson, Lovemore Moyo, attended the burial.

“We bid farewell to a loyal, disciplined, selfless and dedicated social democrat leader,” MDC-T’s Gwanda Central secretary, Jastine Masilu Mazhale said.

“Gwanda Central members must emulate the late chairman by intensifyng the struggle and ensure that they herald a new socio-economic and political dispensation, a dream the late Tlou did not fulfil, but was so passionate about.

“Tlou proved to be a unifier and loving character as he brought a heterogeneous crowd. Indeed, the MDC-T has lost a father figure and a revolutionary par excellence. The void will be difficult to fill.”

Gwanda South legislator, Ekem Moyo said: “If it were possible to bring him back to life, we could still be friends. I will miss him forever. He left a project, where, together, we have dedicated to fight poverty, illiteracy and hunger amongst our people. He taught me to articulate our party programmes and tolerate everyone in our political carrier.”
