LESSONS have resumed at Chinatsa Secondary School following a lightning bolt that killed two students and left 83 injured a fortnight ago.

After the incident, the school was deserted with traumatised students, parents and teachers calling for the relevant authorities to exorcise the school. Last week, Primary and Secondary Education deputy minister Paul Mavhima begged the community to move on after the tragedy and let the children return to school.
Mashonaland East provincial education director, Christopher Chihota, said most students had returned.
“After the minister’s visit last week, lessons resumed the following day. However, some students are still to return, but the number is increasing every day. All in all, normalcy has returned to the school,” he said. Chihota also said some students, who sustained severe burns, were still admitted at Marondera Provincial Hospital.
