Ncube and his party last week donated various goods to flood victims in Tsholotsho’s Sipepa area.

The goods included 10 bags of clothes, footwear, 15kg of kapenta fish, school stationery and 20 blankets.

Moyo, who is Higher Education minister and Zanu PF politburo member, yesterday twitted: “Thank you @Welshman_Ncube for the donation of items listed … to the Tsholotsho flood victims of Cyclone Dineo at Sipepa transit camp.”

Tsholotsho was one of the districts worst affected by the Cyclone Dineo-induced flash floods that rocked other parts of the country this year, leaving hundreds of families homeless.

In Tsholotsho, the victims were evacuated and temporarily sheltered at a makeshift camp with international humanitarian organisations and the Civil Protection Unit providing basic care.

The floods also left a trail of destruction, including damaged roads and bridges in other areas such as Mberengwa, Chiredzi, Mutoko and Bulilima.
