FANS of American-born Nigerian music star, David Adedeji Adeleke, known by his stage name Davido, have a golden opportunity to meet the musician when he goes on a city tour ahead of his performance on October 13 at Harare International Conference Centre. BY WINSTONE ANTONIO
Davido, who is making his second visit to Zimbabwe, is part of a stellar line-up of performers, who will light up the stage at Jah Prayzah’s much-awaited eighth album, Kutonga Kwaro, launch concert.
The Nigerian singer who is rated among Africa’s great and versatile artistes, is also a producer and owns his record label tagged HKN Music. He collaborated with Jah Prayzah on the song My Lilly that is featured on the new album.
One of the concert partners, Dee Nosh of 2 Kings Entertainment, told NewsDay yesterday that Davido will touch down at Harare International Airport a day before the show, so that he can rehearse and meet with fans before his performance.
“We have arranged that Davido be in the country a day before the concert on October 12 to have time for rehearsals of their duet My Lilly, as he is also scheduled for a city tour meeting his fans and visiting radio stations as per our norm with all visiting artistes we bring into the country,” he said.
“We are also still working on the logistics to have the fans mix and mingle with Davido at a welcome party reception.”

Billboards for the show have already been erected along major roads in and around the capital, setting the tone for the launch.
“While everything is progressing well on the planning side with all the paperwork above board, we urge fans to buy their tickets in advance through both swipe and EcoCash to avoid last-minute hustles,” De Nosh said.
An array of supporting acts among them Andy Muridzo, Ex Q, Nutty O and Diamond Boys alongside wheel spinners DJ Iroq, will take turns to entertain revellers.
As the Uzumba-bred dreadlocked Jah Prayzah seems to be enjoying the fruits of collaborations, on the album, he roped in another multi award-winning Nigerian songstress, Yemi Alade.
