According to a memo to the Chitungwiza town clerk, Zinara said it had allocated $182 367 for the preparatory works and resealing of three roads, Mutsau, Mukomberwa and Hombarume stretching a total of 6,9km.

Council spokesperson Lovemore Meya said the town welcomed the funds from Zinara, which have come at an opportune time when roads in the city needed serious rehabilitation.

“We have received an approval from Zinara and we are grateful as this has come at the opportune time, where our residents and motorists were requesting that we do something in respect to the state of our roads,” Meya said.

“Some residents have also assembled in an effort to work on some of the roads, an effort we appreciate. However, we advised them to stop or join us as we are set to work on the same roads which are part of our plan.”
