TWO motorists cheated death on Sunday when an overloaded Concession-bound goods train reversed before crashing into two cars and derailing.

Mashonaland Central acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati confirmed the accident.
“I can confirm that an overloaded goods train crashed into two cars at a level crossing in Glendale, the motorists escaped with minor injuries, but the vehicles (a Toyota Wish and Toyota Camry) were damaged beyond recognition,” Masikati said.
It is alleged the train driver lost control of the locomotive and it started reversing while hooting continuously to alert other road users.
Masikati urged motorists to observe road rules to avoid road accidents.
