Tromage Enterprises, a Harare car sales firm, has had its property attached to offset a $26 000 debt it owes a local businessman following a botched car sale deal.

The company got into a deal to obtain a vehicle for businessman, Cashington Mavhunduke, last year but the company failed to deliver the car, resulting in Mavhunduke taking legal action.

High Court judge Justice Francis Bere handed down the judgment in default on Tuesday after the car sales director, Joyce Mukazhi, failed to attend court.

Part of the order reads: “. . . summary judgment is hereby granted in favour of Applicant against Respondent in the sum of $26 500.

“The Respondent shall pay interest on the principal sum of $26 500 at the rate of 5% per annum reckoned from December 20 2010 to the date of payment in full.”

The order goes on to say that Tromage Enterprises shall pay Mavhunduke for all costs to be incurred which include collection commission and legal charges.
