Lobels Bread Private Limited has pledged to continue investing in Bulawayo despite massive flight and closure of several companies saying it believes the current economic challenges were shortlived.

In an interview with NewsDay after opening their seventh retail shop in the city this week, the Lobels Managing Director, Ngoni Mazango, said Bulawayo had unparalleled opportunities and hoped to open three more outlets as soon as the plant capacity was improved.

“Early next year, I am hoping Lobels will have expanded. This informal opening is a small opening of a big place because we have bigger plans. We have used about $150 000 to open this outlet and we are still putting in more money to facilitate the growth of the company, particularly in Bulawayo,” he said.

Mazango said Lobels was “there to stay and will continue creating jobs for the unemployed”.
