Contrary to recent media reports that United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was set to visit Zimbabwe early next year, the world body on Wednesday refuted the claims saying no such visit had been planned.

“. . . it is to be noted that there is currently no visit planned from the UN Secretary-General to Zimbabwe,” said the UN in a statement.

Reports were that Ban would be in the country to assess tourism and political climates ahead of the UN World Tourism Organisation General Assembly to be co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Zambia in 2013.
