The Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) yesterday advised Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Gideon Gono’s advisor, Munyaradzi Kereke, to follow laid-down procedures if he felt aggrieved by the media.

“We refer to the above matter and to your open letter received by us on 18 November 2011.

The Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) has got a mechanism for dealing with complaints against the media and media practitioners.

“Should you wish to lodge a formal complaint you are free to do so. We attach hereto copies of the VMCZ Media Code of Conduct, the Complaints Procedures and the Complaint Form,” said council chairperson Alec Muchadehama in a statement.

Over the past two weeks, Kereke has been taking huge advertisement space in newspapers publishing statements in which he accused Alpha Media Holdings journalists of soliciting bribes from him.
