Deputy Prime Minister Thokozani Khupe believes she has survived the most difficult period in her life after undergoing a crucial operation as part of treatment for breast cancer last month.

On Thursday she said she felt rejuvenated after undergoing the operation in South Africa.

In an interview with NewsDay at the launch of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s book At the Deep End on Thursday, Khupe, who had just arrived back home, thanked Zimbabweans who prayed for her.

“It went on very well and I am feeling good as you can see. I feared for the worst, but the worst is now over,” she said.

The MDC-T deputy president was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and went public about her condition in June.
