CHINHOYI Police in Mashonaland West have launched a manhunt for three suspects who pounced on a 58-year-old woman and robbed her of a Toyota Corolla, a Nokia cellphone and $25 cash.

The incident occurred on Monday around 3am. According to police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara, three unidentified men scaled a precast wall at Emily Kandavas house in Chikonohono suburb and forced open her locked door using a pick.

When Kandava heard noise she went out to investigate, but was confronted by the robbers who demanded cash from her.

She complied and allegedly surrendered a Nokia cellphone and $25 which they said was not enough. The robbers went on to demand keys to the car and garage to which the complainant obliged, said Mabgweazara, adding they forced her to unlock the main gate before speeding-off in her car.
