Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals is seeking to acquire two standby generators to ease power supply shortages due to increased unscheduled load-shedding currently hitting the country.
According to a recently released Government Gazette, tender forms relating to the supply, installation and commissioning of two standby generators at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals can be obtained at the countrys major referral centre.
Zimbabwe has been experiencing spontaneous rolling blackouts since last week. Meanwhile, Zesa spokesperson Fullard Gwasira has said they are sourcing funds to service their $80 million debt to Mozambiques Hydro Cahorra Bassa (HCB).
The mobilising of funds in reference to payments to HCB is a process and not an event and we are still in the process.The response from our customers as regards payment of bills has been very encouraging though a lot more still needs to be done since we still have a huge debt overhang, Gwasira said.
He said consumers should realise the importance of servicing their debts if uninterrupted power was to be supplied.
Zesa needs to pay for the electricity it imports, and likewise customers should pay for electricity supplied. Thats the only way to ensure security supplies and introduce planning as regards load-shedding, he said.
