A Bulawayo woman was on Monday locked up in remand prison for allegedly offering a 16-year-old girl to several men for sex in return for cash.
Buhlewenkosi Sibanda pleaded not guilty to the charge when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate, Sherpard Mnjanja. The magistrate remanded her in custody to July 11 for trial.
The court was told that between February and April this year, Sibanda offered the 16-year-old girl to several men who engaged in sexual intercourse with her and paid unspecified amounts of money for the services to Sibanda.
The matter was reported to the police after the girl disclosed the abuse to other people, leading to Sibanda’s arrest.
