A commuter omnibus driver died on the spot when his vehicle burst a front tyre and collided with an oncoming vehicle along the Harare-Bindura Highway yesterday.
Confirming the accident last night, national police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Oliver Mandipaka said the accident occurred at the 82km peg at Mapunga.
“The commuter is alleged to have had a front right tyre burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle and it encroached into the opposite lane. There was a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle,” said Mandipaka, adding that several passengers were injured.
