AN online movement WE Zimbabwe, is calling on artistes to remix the liberation war song, Nzira Dzemasoja, with the winner taking away US$2000.
Writing on its website, wezim.org, the movement says it stands to safeguard Zimbabwe’s future and cherished values, uphold unwavering integrity & demand accountability and empower every voice, foster inclusive dialogue and champion justice and constitutionalism.
Composed in 1974 by Paul Chigango at Mgagao Camp, during the height of the war of liberation for Zimbabwe "Nzira Dzemasoja" was meant to teach fighters respect, honesty, and discipline.
It was also a call for the generality of Zimbabweans to unite in the struggle for freedom.
According to WE Zimbabwe, the challenge is meant to bring back the spirit of integrity, honesty and discipline in the new generation.
For artists to enter the competition, they should download the instrumental of Nzira Dzemasoja, add lyrics, or further remix it, then upload it to the WE Zimbabwe website, where people will vote for it.
