He was 59 and he became chief in 2009, taking over from his late younger brother. According to his son, Chief Ziki first collapsed when he had escorted a family under his jurisdiction to settle a case of an avenging spirit.
“He collapsed on Thursday and when he returned to his traditional court to preside over other matters, he was complaining that he was feeling weak,” Edward said.
“On Friday, he presided over other matters and left for Kadoma that same day in the evening. He proceeded to see a doctor. He was starting to record some signs of progress when he died on Tuesday morning.”
The son said the chief’s body would be ferried to Bikita today before burial tomorrow.
