GWERU Provincial Hospital has tabled project proposals worth over $1,4 million to build and upgrade numerous facilities, which include a new mortuary, intensive care unit and incinerator. REPORT BY OWN CORRESPONDENT
In an interview with NewsDay yesterday, hospital superintendent Fabian Mashingaidze said they would soon be appealing to donors for funding.
“We have already tabled the projects we want to carry out at the hospital,” he said.
“As you are aware, our mortuary has been a cause of concern in the past years and we feel that there is need to build a new one. Once we secure funds for the projects, we expect to build a new mortuary.”
Mashingaidze said the hospital intended to upgrade the Opportunistic Infections Unit.
“We appeal to well-wishers and the surrounding community to help in raising funds that are required to realise these projects,” he said.
