GOKWE — Three game rangers at Sengwa National Parks in Gokwe South shot a suspected game poacher and injured him on both legs after he allegedly killed a wild pig and a buffalo worth $2 700 at the weekend.

The suspected poacher, Timothy Nhamo (19), of Nhamo village in Gokwe South, is admitted at Gokwe South District Hospital under prison guard.
He initially appeared before Gokwe resident magistrate Shepard Mjanja facing poaching charges on Monday. The magistrate remanded him in custody to November 26 for trial. Allegations are that on November 11, Nhamo killed a warthog and a Buffalo at Sengwa National Park.
He was seen by three game rangers Dumisani Moyo, Norman Tigere and Fidelis Malawa.
Nhamo reportedly tried to escape, leading to him being shot.

The rangers recovered game meat from him and the two wild animals which he had allegedly killed.Nhamo was taken to Gokwe South District Hospital where he remains admitted.
