JCI’s outgoing local president Silas Usai told NewsDay in Bulawayo last Friday that the programme’s main focus for 2012 was to promote gender equality and empower the girl child.

“We are committed to promote that Millenium Developmental Goal of promoting gender equality and empowerment of women through education in Zimbabwe and globally,” said Usai.

“We have been teaching girl students about the importance of choosing their careers wisely in an effort to empower them and curb gender discrimination in females.”
