GWERU — A Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) operative accused of spraying two people with an unknown chemical following a misunderstanding in August last year has been acquitted of assault charges.

Frank Vengesayi had been charged with spraying Costan Mukanganwiki and another unidentified man with an unknown substance following a traffic brawl in the central business district.
State witnesses who testified in the matter accused Mukanganwiki of causing the brawl and slapping Vengesayi after the latter questioned his driving.
Vengesayi had accused Mukanganwiki of nearly knocking him down with his car.
