RIVER of Living Water, a UK-based charity organisation last week donated $21 000 worth of medical equipment to Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo following reports that the health institution was facing an acute shortage of drugs, medical sundries and ambulances.

The donation included medicines, water purification equipment and children’s clothes among a host of other goods.

The hospital, which is Bulawayo’s largest public health institution, requires about $7 million to resuscitate its worn-out infrastructure and boost its medical supplies.

Speaking at the handover ceremony last Friday, River of Living Water director Alan Clarredge said his organisation had been donating to the institution for several years.
