GWERU – THE trial of two Zimbabwe National Students’ Union (Zinasu) leaders, Pride Mukono and Tryvine Musokeri, jointly charged for allegedly contravening sections of the Public Order and Security Act has been set for February 8. Report by Stephen Chadenga

The student activists’ trial has been postponed on numerous occasions since last year.

Gweru magistrate Rutendo Muchena announced the trial date on Friday.

Mukono, who is Zinasu president and union secretary Musokeri, are alleged to have organised an illegal demonstration to protest delays in the disbursement of fees under the cadetship programme at the Midlands State University.

Bonwell Balamanja is the prosecutor.
