OVER the past four or so years the market has seen significant changes not only in the shareholding structure of banks and banking groups, but also in their branding postures.

This has been occasioned for the most part by new shareholders wanting a clean break with the past or simply wanting to position their brand more prominently in an evolving market.

As a result, someone returning into the country after four years of absence may be excused for not immediately recognising names such as Capital Bank, Ecobank and Allied Bank.
