MATABELELAND North has seen a decline in the number of community and home-based caregivers with only 1 205 people volunteering for the programme last year compared to 3 469 enrolled in 2010.

This was revealed by the National Aids Council monitoring and evaluation officer for Matabeleland North Mthokozisi Moyo while addressing stakeholders during a meeting held at Mhlahlandlela government Complex in Bulawayo on Tuesday.

Moyo blamed the declining interest on lack of incentives, a development that has seen many people abandon the programme.
