AN audit of accounts of Makuzeze Primary School in Mangwe district, Matabeleland South, instituted after parents alleged that the headmistress was abusing funds, has revealed that more than R30 000 cannot be accounted for.

Report by Pamela Mhlanga

Mangwe Rural Distrcit Council, which owns the school, launched the audit after parents staged a demonstration at the institution protesting against school head Victoria Pasipanodya’s management style.

The parents were also angry that Pasipanodya had transferred two teachers from the school accusing them of undermining her authority.

Presenting the audit report to the Makuzeze community at the school on Wednesday, the local authority’s chief executive officer Nketha Mangoye Dlamini said the investigation had uncovered evidence of massive abuse of funds.
